Manchester United planning a £42million January bid for Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen, according to El Desmarque in Spain.

It was well reported that the Red Devils attempted to sign the Denmark international in the summer window, but were unable to secure their target.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to add quality to the squad, so reports suggest they have reignited their interest in Eriksen.

The 27-year-old does not seem happy at Spurs, and has rejected a new contract, it’s a difficult situation for chairman Daniel Levy as he will know unless he sells the player in January, he could lose Eriksen on a free next summer.

Current United first team coach Michael Carrick made the move from Spurs to the North West.

Manchester United will know they may face bids for their star midfielder Paul Pogba from Real Madrid, and as a club will certainly not want to be left further short by the end of the window.

The two clubs have carried out business in the past with the sales of Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov, but Spurs are in a much stronger league and financial position today.
