Manchester United are reportedly ready to launch a whopping £70m offer for Portugal international winger Bernardo Silva, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who drew 1-1 against rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford last weekend, have been heavily linked with a summer raid for the highly-rated AS Monaco winger.

The 22-year-old, who has 10 international caps for his country, has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 30 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit so far this season.

However Silva, who began his professional career in his homeland with Benfica, is also said to be attracting interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid too – Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho’s former club.

The report suggests any potential deal is set to surpass the £58m United reportedly stumped up for France forward Anthony Martial back in September 2015.

Silva is recognised as one of Portugal’s brightest prospects, although he missed their European Championship win in France last summer due to injury.
