Solskjaer's United seem to have won the race for Pellistri.

Manchester United Predicted XI: Edinson Cavani to make his starting debut for Manchester United? We predict Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI as his side travel to Istanbul in the Champions League.

It seems like it’s one step forward, two steps back for Ole and his United side at this current time as they come off the back of a disappointing result and performance at home to Arsenal.

The pressure is now firmly on the United boss as he looks to build on the fantastic start they have made in the Champions League with another victory in Istanbul.

Unlike their terrible Premier League form, the Red Devils have beaten both Paris Saint Germain and Red Bull Leipzig to sit on top of Group H, with the chance to secure qualification if they record two wins in against Istanbul Basaksehir in the next two matches.

Despite having the chance to qualify in the next few weeks, we believe Solskjaer will make changes ahead of tonight’s clash, with Cavani possibly given the chance from the start.

So which players will he task with getting United a positive result in Turkey?

Here we predict the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI…

Goalkeeper: David de Gea has looked more like his old self this season with Dean Henderson breathing down his neck. After keeping a clean sheet in his 55th European game for United, the Spaniard will be aiming to secure another clean sheet tonight in Istanbul.

Defenders: United’s defence was tightened up after their Spurs thrashing, with Ole’s men keeping a clean sheet in their last two matches before the Arsenal defeat. And to be fair on the defenders at Old Trafford, they did not play badly. But Solskjaer is likely to make a few changes, with Axel Tuanzebe coming into the side to play alongside Harry Maguire at the heart of defence. We also expect to see Brandon Williams come in for Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka starting on the opposite flank.

Midfielders: After successfully playing the diamond against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, the system then failed against Arsenal at the weekend. However, we expect Ole to play that way again this evening but with a much-changed midfield. We feel Nemanja Matic will be brought in to bring much-needed Champions League experience. Juan Mata, will also play from the start with summer signing Donny van de Beek playing from the first minute. That leaves, Paul Pogba to again keep his place in the side, where he will have a lot to prove. Bruno Fernandes is likely to be rested having played a lot of football already this campaign.

Forwards: Edinson Cavani has yet to start for Manchester United and we feel tonight will be his night to shine. The Uruguayan has bags of Champions League experience and will be hoping to find the net tonight. With the diamond midfield that only leaves space for one other attacker, and we feel Mason Greenwood will get the nod tonight, with Solskjaer looking to keep Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial fresh for the weekend.

Predicted United XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Maguire, Williams; Matic, Pogba, Mata, Van de Beek; Greenwood, Cavani.
