Manchester United Predicted XI: United will look to continue their strong run of form against Everton in the premier League on Sunday

Solskjaer has many defenders in his squad.

Manchester United face Everton in a Premier League clash at Goodison Park on Sunday, hoping to continue their strong form.

Since losing 2-0 at home to Burnley at the back-end of January, the Red Devils are unbeaten in seven games conceding just one goal in that run.

Wins over Manchester City and Chelsea have come in the last six weeks as well as progression in the FA Cup and Europa League competitions.

This run of form has seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side give themselves a real chance of Champions League qualification, especially now 5th place could be enough to secure entry into Europe’s elite competition.

So which players will be tasked with the challenge of overcoming Everton tomorrow? Here we predict Solskjaer’s XI…

Goalkeeper: Despite Sergio Romero standing between the sticks against Club Brugge on Thursday night, David de Gea will return to the starting XI on Sunday. After a minor blip in form, the Spanish No1 seems to be back to his best in a United shirt.

Defenders: Although they recorded an emphatic 5-0 win against Brugge utilising a back four, we think Solsjkjaer will revert back to the 3-5-2 formation which has served him well in tough matches this seasons. That will see the imperious Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right wing back, the undroppable Harry Maguire alongside Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw, whilst youngster Brandon Williams will be deployed at left wing back.

Midfielders: How United have missed Scotland international Scott McTominay, the industrious midfielder looked back to his best on Thursday night, scoring on his return from injury. We expect other goal scorers Fred and Bruno Fernandes to play in a midfield three on Sunday.

Forwards: With Solskjaer most likely to resort to a back five that leaves room for just two forwards. We believe Odion Ighalo will retain his place after notching his first goal for the club in the week. And the pacey Daniel James will bring much needed width and pace to this United side. Anthony Martial looks set to miss out on the starting XI due to injury.

Predicted XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Bailly, Shaw, Williams; McTominay Fred, Fernandes; James, Ighalo.
