Solskjaer wants to keep his man.

Manchester United Predicted XI: We predict Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s selection as they host LASK in the Europa League.

United face off against the LASK this evening as they return to European football and have a free shot with no distractions at winning the competition.

Due to their 5-0 win away at LASK in United’s last football match before lockdown, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be expected to ring the changes this evening.

The Red Devils have had a tough period of football since lockdown ended with games coming thick and fast and a lot to play for.

Now they know they have secured Champions League football with a deserved third placed finish in the Premier League, they can now focus on trying to bring some European silverware back to the club.

So which United players will be tasked with the challenge of beating LASK? Here we predict Solskjaer’s XI…

Goalkeeper: Cup keeper Sergio Romero is almost certain to return to the side, having played every game in the Europa League. It will also give Solskjaer the chance to take under fire David de Gea out of the limelight, with the Spaniard enduring a difficult period of late.

Defenders: It is very unlikely that United will lose this game 6-0, but Solskjaer will still want to strike a balance of not playing too many inexperienced players at this level. Also, he has still named a Europa League squad so cannot fill the team with unknown youth players. We expect, Phil Jones to partner Axel Tuanzebe in central defence, Brandon Williams at left back and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

Midfielders: The superstar pairing of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are likely to be rested for tonight’s Europa League encounter. That will leave space in the middle for one or two players who have not played much football since lockdown ended. Brazillian Fred is a likely starter alongside Scott McTominay and hardly-used Jesse Lingard in the attacking hole behind the front three.

Forwards: Marcus Rashford has played an awful lot of football since June and we expect him to be rested alongside Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood. We expect Odion Ighalo to spearhead the attack, with Dan James playing on the right and on the left-hand side occupied by Juan Mata.

Predicted XI: Romero; Fosu-Mensah, Jones, Tuanzebe, Williams; Fred, McTominay, Lingard; Mata, James, Ighalo.
