Solskjaer has many defenders in his squad.

Manchester United Predicted XI: We predict Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s selection as they host West Ham United in their last Premier League home game of the season.

United face off against the Hammers this evening, in a vital league match which will play a huge part on their potential qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Top-four rivals Leicester City suffered a devastating 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday which has given United the chance to go three points above them this evening.

That news was the only positive from United’s weekend as they performed woefully in a 3-1 loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final on Sunday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men need to bounce back from that crushing defeat, and they could well do so having the chance to jump into third place tonight if Chelsea fail to win away at Anfield.

So which United players will be tasked with the challenge of beating the Hammers? Here we predict Solskjaer’s XI…

Goalkeeper: David de Gea came under the most amount of criticism at the weekend after two terrible blunders cost United dearly. But Solskjaer always seems to stick by his number one and we expect him to start again tonight, but the Spaniard will be under heaps of pressure to perform.

Defenders: Solskjaer will be well aware of how badly his team defended against Chelsea on Sunday with even Harry Maguire having a terrible game. Unfortunately for the manager, with injuries for Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly he doesn’t have the squad to make too many changes. We expect Aaron Wan-Bissaka to start at right back with under pressure pair of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire in the midfield and Timothy Fosu-Mensah to return to the side at left back for Brandon Williams.

Midfielders: Paul Pogba was controversially rested for Sunday’s clash and will almost certainly return to the side tonight. We think he will sit alongside Nemanja Matic in the midfield with United’s main man Bruno Fernandes just ahead of them. The pressure will be on this trio tonight to create chances for United’s front three.

Forwards: The front three of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood are in fine form for United and with such a big game ahead we expect the three to start for United tonight. Both Martial and Greenwood started on the bench Sunday, but we can’t see that happening tonight against the struggling Hammers.

Predicted XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Fosu-Mensah; Matic , Pogba, Fernandes; Rashford, Greenwood, Martial.
