Solskjaer wants to keep his man.

Manchester United Predicted XI: We predict Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s selection as they travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

United face off against relegation contenders Aston Villa this evening, knowing they have the chance to close the gap on Champions League qualification rivals Leicester City and Chelsea.

If United can secure all three points tonight they will sit just one point behind the Foxes and two points behind third placed Chelsea.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are up against a villa team desperate for points, as they lie in 17th position and currently four pointsfrom safety.

It’s a completely different picture for United, as they hunt down a Champions League qualification spot and are in fine form winning every game since drawing 1-1 to Tottenham back in June.

So which United players will be tasked with the challenge of continuing their great form. Here we predict Solskjaer’s XI…

Goalkeeper: Despite United’s No.2 Sergio Romero performing well pretty much every time he wears a United shirt, Ole will still choose David De Gea between the sticks this afternoon. The Spaniard’s form has been questioned throughout the season, but he’ll still be the first name on the team sheet today.

Defenders: Solskjaer has been very consistent with his back four since football returned, but we believe he will use this opportunity to rest some players. We believe Brandon Williams will come in for Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly will replace Victor Lindelof, to play alongside Harry Maguire and the imperious Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Midfielders: United’s midfield looks a different beast with January signing Bruno Fernandes unlocking defences and the return of Paul Pogba from injury. Those two will start, but despite Nemanja Matic’s brilliant performances we believe he will be rested in place for Scott McTominay.

Forwards: Mason Greenwood is the talk of United at the moment, following his fantastic performance against Bournemouth. We’re backing him to retain his place, but Marcus Rashford will be given a rest in place for Daniel James and Anthony Martial will retain his place.

Predicted XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Bailly, Williams; McTominay, Pogba, Fernandes; James, Greenwood, Martial.
