Solskjaer has many defenders in his squad.

Manchester United Predicted XI: We predict Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s selection as they travel to Wembley to face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi finals.

United face off against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi finals this evening, with not much separating the sides in what should be a mouth-watering encounter.

Manager Solskjaer will be pleased with United’s last result where they managed to bounce back from a disappointing home draw to Southampton to beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park.

Tonight’s game sees a difficult juggling act for both United and Chelsea as they will be desperate to get their hands on silverware, but also know how crucial the next two Premier League games are as they both race for Champions League football.

So which United players will be tasked with the challenge of meeting Arsenal in the FA Cup fina;. Here we predict Solskjaer’s XI…

Goalkeeper: Sergio Romero has been United’s cup keeper throughout the campaign and we expect the Argentine stopper to be named between the sticks again tonight.

Defenders: Solskjaer has been very consistent with his back four since football returned, but Luke Shaw went off injured against Southampton and Timothy Fosu-Mensah came into the side midweek. We expect Brandon Williams to replace him at left back and start alongside the trusted trio of Victor Lindelof alongside Harry Maguire and the imperious Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Midfielders: United’s midfield looks a different beast with January signing Bruno Fernandes unlocking defences and the return of Paul Pogba from injury. Those two will start alongside former Chelsea midfielder maestro Nemanja Matic who has been in fine form since lockdown and was rested at Selhurst Park. Scott McTominay will drop to the bench to make way for Matic.

Forwards: The front three of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood are in fine form for United and with such a big game ahead, we expect the trio to keep their place in the side. However, Solskjaer has plenty of options off the bench if his front men aren’t firing.

Predicted XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams; Matic , Pogba, Fernandes; Rashford, Greenwood, Martial.
