Manchester United Predicted XI: We predict Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting line-up as they travel to West Ham United in the Premier League

Manchester United make the trip to the London Stadium on Saturday evening knowing that victory away at West Ham for the first time since January 2017 would put them back into contention for the European qualification spots.

Last week the Red Devils won the hard way by coming from 2-0 down at half-time to win 3-2 away at Southampton, thanks to two goals from substitute Edinson Cavani and a Bruno Fernandes strike.

But United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know that, despite claiming the three points, his side cannot afford to make a habit of giving themselves a mountain to climb.

United lost 3-1 away at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League during the week, but need to replicate the type of determination used to overcome Southampton if they are take points off 5th place West Ham.

Here we predict United’s starting XI to take on West Ham…

Goalkeeper:

David De Gea injured his knee attempting to save James Ward-Prowse’s superb free-kick against the Saints, but managed to last the full 90 minutes against PSG without concern. Former Sheffield United loanee Dean Henderson is waiting in the wings for a Premier League start, but De Gea looks likely to start in the capital.

Defenders:

Summer signing Alex Telles looks set to make his third Premier League appearance at left-back after starting all of United’s last four games. In the centre of defence, Solskjaer’s go-to partnership of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof will be looking for their first away clean sheet since October . At right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka was tasked with dealing with Neymar against PSG and will likely get the nod to start against West Ham.

Midfielders:

Brazilian Fred got sent off against PSG, but he looks likely to line up alongside Scott McTominay in defensive midfield. In-form Bruno Fernandes has seven goals and three assists this season and after scoring against Southampton, looks set to start in attacking midfield.

Forwards:

Saturday’s game looks to be too early for Marcus Rashford, who picked up a shoulder injury against PSG, which means Mason Greenwood should be given the chance to get his first league goal of the season from the off. After his heroics on the south coast, Edinson Cavani looks nailed on to be given his first Premier League start, with Anthony Martial flanking the Uruguayan.
