Manchester United could reportedly end their pursuit of England international defender Harry Maguire, according to The Times.

The Premier League side, who visit Watford in the top-flight on Saturday evening (17:30), were continuously linked with a mega money move for the Leicester City star this summer following his impressive performances at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Russia.

The 25-year-old, who has 13 international caps for the Three Lions, has scored one goal in four appearances in all competitions for The Foxes so far this season.

Maguire, who arrived at the King Power Stadium last June following his switch from Hull City, in a deal worth up to £17m, has netted three goals in 48 games overall for Leicester.

However, the centre-back’s decision to put pen to paper on a new five-year contract at the club has almost certainly put an end to United’s pursuit of the defender, who will now earn £90,000-a-week at the King Power Stadium.

Maguire was a top defensive target for Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho in the summer, and was valued at around £75m.
