Manchester United risk missing out on signing France international Antoine Griezmann, as Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to stump up an equalling world record fee for the winger, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who host newly promoted Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, have been continuously linked with a move for the prolific Atletico Madrid forward following his impressive Euro 2016 campaign earlier this summer.

The 25-year-old, who has 38 international caps for his country and helped fire France to the European Championship finals in his homeland, has scored six goals and provided three assists in 11 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit so far this season.

However, the report suggests that defending Ligue 1 champions PSG are desperate to sign the Red Devils target; so much so, they are remarkably willing to meet the player’s enormous £89m buy-out clause.

Jose Mourinho’s United current sit seventh in the Premier League table following last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Chelsea.
