West Ham United are set to complete the free signing of England Under-20 international forward Ashley Fletcher, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Premier League side, who finished seventh in the English top-flight standings during boss Slaven Bilic’s debut campaign, are poised to lure the young Manchester United striker to the Olympic Stadium this summer.
The 20-year-old, who began his youth career at Bolton Wanderers, scored nine goals in 27 appearances in all competitions whilst on loan at Barnsley last season – who defeated Millwall in the League One play-off final back in May.
Fletcher, who has rejected a new deal with the Red Devils, is now ready to undergo a medical with the Hammers shortly ahead of his proposed transfer.
However because the forward is only 20, United will be entitled to a compensation fee from the Londoners.
Fletcher will leave Old Trafford having failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Premier League outfit.
