Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney to be offered £1,000,000-a-week deal in China

The agent of England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is reportedly in China to try and complete a mega-money move for the forward, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who defeated AS Saint-Etienne 4-0 on aggregate in their recent UEFA Europa League Round of 32 clash, have been linked with selling the club legend before the close of the Chinese transfer window on February 28 (Tuesday).

The 31-year-old, who is the Three Lions’ all-time leading goalscorer with 53 strikes, has scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 29 appearances in all competitions for The Red Devils so far this season.

Rooney, who arrived at Old Trafford back in August 2004 from Premier League rivals Everton, is also United’s record scorer after netting his 250th club goal against Stoke City last month.

The report suggests Paul Stretford, the star’s agent, is holding talks with several Chinese Super League outfits about a surprise Far East switch.

It is understood that potential suitors can offer Rooney a whopping wage packet of £1,000,000-a-week.

Tianjin Quanjian, who are managed by former Italy World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro, have been heavily linked with a move for the England and United legend.
