Man United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that summer signing, Eric Bailly suffered a serious injury in their embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking after Conte’s side hit the Red Devils for four, the former Blues boss said of the Ivorian’s knock: “I am afraid it is a bad injury,

“It is in his knee, the ligament area. He feels it is really bad.”

The 22-year-old had played every minute of United’s mixed league campaign thus far this season until he was forced off after 52 minutes on Sunday afternoon.

The former Espanyol man made the move to Old Trafford from La Liga side Valencia over the summer, for a fee of around £30m and has impressed ever since.

The central defender will be a big miss for Mourinho, who will have a lot to think about over the coming days after woeful performances from the likes of Chris Smalling.

Bailly now reportedly faces at least a month on the sidelines and will miss clashes with Man City and Arsenal amongst others.
