Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho admitted he expected more penetration in attack from midfielder Paul Pogba during Monday night’s goalless encounter against rivals Liverpool.

The Red Devils boss, who saw his side record back-to-back Premier League draws after yesterday’s 0-0 tie at Anfield, was disappointed with the world-record signing’s influence in the final third of the pitch.

The 23-year-old, who re-joined the Old Trafford outfit from defending Serie A champions Juventus earlier this summer in a colossal £89m deal, has scored one goal in nine appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils so far this season.

Manager Mourinho told Sky Sports after the Red Monday clash, “Had it been 1-0, it would have been finished.

“Where Pogba was playing, I was expecting more penetration.

“Defensively we did really well, we should have had a little bit more. We had a big chance that I thought Zlatan was going to score.”
