Newcastle have been linked with an ambitious move for Michy Batshuayi.

According to a report in The Chronicle the Chelsea striker is among the options that Rafa Benitez is looking at to find the goals needed in next season’s return to the Premier League.

Batshuayi scored the goal that clinched the Premier League title for Chelsea away to West Brom but has played a distance secondary role to Diego Costa.

Despite Costa looking likely to be sold in the summer Batshuayi doesn’t seem to feature in Antonio Conte’s plans for next season.

The Belgian striker has been frustrated by the lack of opportunities that he’s had at Chelsea and tried to get out on loan during the January transfer window.

There have been reports that Chelsea would only be prepared to sell Batshuayi but with Benitez’s personal connections to the London club a loan deal can’t be ruled out.

As well as his club career being on hold the 23-year-old is keen to push his chances with the Belgian national side ahead of next summer’s World Cup Finals in Russia.
