Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing World Cup winning goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
The Magpies have immediately begun their search for a new shot stopper after regular number one Tim Krul was ruled out for the remainder of the season after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament whilst on international duty.
Valdes, 33, who lifted the 2010 FIFA World Cup with Spain, has made just two first-team appearances for Manchester United since arriving from FC Barcelona back in January.
Both Chelsea and Liverpool has been linked with moves for the Red Devils outcast, but it is thought that United boss Louis van Gaal does not want Valdes to join a Premier League rival in the January transfer window.
