Newcastle United will reportedly attempt to sign Brazil Under-23 international forward Kenedy, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who defeated Southampton 3-0 at St James’ Park on Saturday to climb three points clear of the relegation zone, have been impressed with the Chelsea loanee since his arrival in late-January.

The 22-year-old, who has featured twice for Brazil’s Under-23 side, has scored two goals and provided an assist in his first six appearances for The Magpies so far this season.

Kenedy, who netted a brace against the Saints at the weekend, has netted three goals in 27 games in all competitions for parent club Chelsea since arriving from Fluminense back in August 2015.

The report claims Newcastle will try to sign the left winger on a permanent deal this summer, but they will have to splash out up to £15m for the Samba star’s signature.
