There hasn’t been much for Newcastle fans to shout about so far this season, and October was no different as they were beaten 3-0 by arch-rivals Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, as well as being on the end of a 6-1 hammering against Manchester City.
However, they did have a brief moment of cheer in the 6-2 win against Norwich at St James’ Park, in which summer signing Wijnaldum scored four times.
The Netherlands international has certainly been impressive for Steve McClaren’s side in his debut season in the Premier League, but now needs the help of his team-mates to move United up the table.
