Neymar showcases new Nike boots to Barcelona school kids

Barcelona forward Neymar Jr. has being showing off his new “Ousadia Algeria” boots to kids in a school on the Catalan city’s seafront.

IES Consell de Cent is a vibrant school with around 500 students. The institution is also home to the Terra Negra Club, a non-profit sports club that boasts three men’s and two women’s football teams, competing in several divisions. Its coaches and coordinators invest their time in the players and in supporting sports activity in the greater community.

This week, Neymar Jr. travelled to their pitch, bringing with him five young, aspiring footballers, who he surprised with an invitation to join his own crew for a Winner Stays tournament.

Once there, the Brazil captain worked with Brasilian street artist Bruno Big, who created the graphic for the footballer’s new ‘Ousadia Alegria’ boots to frame the newly upgraded pitch in the same motif, integrating FC Barcelona’s signature blue and red.

“I love how Bruno has captured a motto that is so important to me and I’m happy that this design is now on the wall of a pitch where kids play every day. I hope it will inspire them as much as it inspires me,” explains Neymar Jr., who honed his game in similar street-football venues.

The day ended with six teams of young footballers competing in a mini tournament, which concluded with the players and fans of Terra Negra gathing for an impromptu on-pitch ‘selfie’ with their idol.
