Norwich City have reportedly agreed a club-record fee to sign Switzerland international Timm Klose, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who face fellow newly promoted AFC Bournemouth this afternoon, are expected to complete a £8.5m January deal for the Wolfsburg defender later this month.

The 27-year-old, who has 12 international caps for his country, has scored one goal in 12 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

Centre-half Klose, who stands tall at 6ft 4in, is eager to gain more first-team football this term ahead of the 2016 UEFA European Championships this summer.

The £8.5m fee agreed by Alex Neil’s side matches the lump sum Norwich coughed up for Netherlands international striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel back in March 2013.
