Norwich City are reportedly ready to make a January bid for Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle.

Canaries boss Alex Neil was keen to sign the Eagles attacker on deadline day, but Alan Pardew pulled the plug on the move after team-mate, Connor Wickham, picked up a calf injury in training that morning.

The City manager still wants to strengthen his attacking options in January though, and the Scot will launch another bid for the former Peterborough United man.

Gayle, who has made just two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, was Palace’s top goalscorer in all competitions last term with 10 goals in 29 games.
