Norwich City are reportedly interested in signing £5m-rated Championship ace Sam Byram this January.

The newly-promoted Premier League side, who defeated Southampton 1-0 at the weekend to move six points clear of the relegation zone, are thought to be considering using Northern Ireland international Kyle Lafferty as a makeweight in a part-exchange offer for the Leeds United right-back this month.

The 22-year-old, who has been with the Elland Road outfit since he was 12-years-old, has scored three goals in 21 league games for the Championship club this season.

With Whites boss Steve Evans keen on signing striker Lafferty from the Canaries this month; Norwich boss Alex Neil hopes he can tempt Leeds into agreeing a part-exchange transfer involving £5m-rated Byram for the Northern Irishman, especially as the likes of Everton, Newcastle United and Sunderland have also been linked with moves for the highly-rated defender.
