There’s not been a lot to cheer about for Nottingham Forest fans this season as the club have flirted with relegation and struggled for consistency.
One bright spark in an otherwise dark season has been the return of teenager Jordan Gabriel who had been injured during pre-season but returned in recent weeks and was hoped to be able to play some sort of part in Forest’s final games.
That’s all come to an end as the full back was taken off in the recent under 23s game against Huddersfield Town which saw him suffer what looks like a serious ankle injury.
Gabriel had been tipped as a future star and it’s just hoped this latest injury won’t halt the development of one of Forest’s brightest stars.
Forest look to have given themselves a massive boost in the fight against relegation when their first team defeated Huddersfield 2-0 last week but they still aren’t out of the woods yet.
Fans have been given their reaction on social media to news of Gabriel’s injury:
Jordan Gabriel’s injury is to his ankle. He’s just left on crutches. Will be monitored over next 24 hours once swelling goes down #nffc
