Nottingham Forest are reportedly the favourites to land Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell on loan this January.

The Championship club, who lie 14th in the table following their 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic at the weekend, want to take the former England Under-21 ace on loan for the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign.

The 21-year-old, who arrived at Old Trafford in a deal worth up to £6m from League One outfit Crewe Alexandra back in July 2012, has made just two substitute appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions this season.

Powell, who is also attracting interest from Championship rivals Brighton, Preston North End and Wolves, has failed to establish himself in Louis van Gaal’s first-team plans at Old Trafford having played just nine games for the club since his big money move.
