Name: Charlie Austin

Position: Striker

Club: Queens Park Rangers

Crystal Palace are one of many potential suitors for England striker Charlie Austin, who has stirred up a huge volume of speculation throughout the entirety of the summer transfer window.

Despite manager Alan Pardew already bringing in fellow forwards Connor Wickham (Sunderland) and Patrick Bamford (Chelsea – loan) to Selhurst Park this summer, the Eagles are hopeful of pipping several Premier League rivals to the Queens Park Rangers star before Tuesday’s deadline.

The 26-year-old, who used to play for non-league sides Poole Town and Hungerford Town, scored an impressive 18 goals in 35 Premier League appearances last season as Chris Ramsey’s side suffered relegation from the English top flight.

Austin, who is carrying a £15m price tag from his parent club QPR, has already scored four goals in as many games in the Championship this term.

However; Pardew’s Palace aren’t the only Premier League club considering a late move for the England striker, with Chelsea, Everton, Manchester United, Newcastle United and West Brom all linked with the Rs star.
