There can’t many teams in football who cause their fans angst and worry quite like Crystal Palace who seem to have an uncanny knack of somehow keeping themselves within touching distance of relegation just when all seemed safe.
Recent wins over the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have been undermined by losses to Bournemouth and Saturday’s 5-0 hammering at the hands of Manchester City.
The defeat leaves Sam Allardyce’s side four points above Hull City who sit in 18th place after a shock home loss to already relegated Sunderland, while Swansea City’s home over Everton has given them hope as they sit just three points behind the Eagles with two games left to play. Next week sees Palace entertain Hull which could be a relegation decider, especially with a tough trip to Old Trafford for the Eagles on the final day of the season.
Three successive league defeats means that Palace’s form as desserted them at the crucial stage of the season and Allardyce must now rally his troops before it’s too late.
Palace fans took to social media to share their thoughts on whether the club will be playing Premier League football next season:
#CPFC just back from Man City didn’t expect to win but there is a way to lose and it ain’t like that now I am worried we need some passion

I wish I wasn’t a football fan. I have a very, very bad feeling about the end of this season #cpfc

Didn’t expect this! But I have turned my attention towards Hull. A draw next Sunday and it’s all good.. Even a Hull draw against Spurs #CPFC

Praying for Sakho, Tomkins and Dann… could two please make a recovery in time for next week? #CPFC

Well at least it’s still in our hands. We just need a draw, IF the worse happened we’d have to rely on the spuds on the last day
