Manchester United face a race to resolve Pogba’s contract situation before he will be free to discuss terms with other clubs and potentially leave on a free at the end of the football season.

With French reports suggesting the player and his agent are demanding wages in excess of £500,000 a week, losing the World Cup winner on a free transfer might have to be a fate United accept.

Solskjaer could not be at the club when the Pogba decision is finalised.

Those staggering wages will put the midfielder on more money than club superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and the rest of the world’s biggest League.

However, the issues at Old Trafford run a lot of deeper than the Pogba issue, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under extreme pressure as his side’s form suffers.
