Pochettino must give these 3 Tottenham players a chance in the Champions League

Tottenham players travelled to Moscow on Monday ahead of their Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night.

With Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose all being left in London there are plenty of places up for grabs in Pochettino’s side.

The North London side didn’t get off to a good start in Europe’s top competition, with a 2-1 loss to Ligue 1 high-flyers Monaco at Wembley Stadium, their ‘home’ in the Champions League this season.

Taking that into consideration the Argentine manager will be desperate to get some points on the board in Group E when they head to the Russian capital, however, he will also have one eye on weekend and the visit of the seemingly invincible Man City to White Hart Lane.

With that in mind, there may well be some changes made in Moscow in order to keep the side fresh for the return of Premier League football on Sunday afternoon, and here are THREE players that should get their chance on Tuesday…

The Spurs’ summer signing has had a tough start to life in English football and will want to impress quickly with Kane being sidelined.

The 22-year-old, who scored his first goal for his new club in the EFL Cup against Gillingham last week, had a spectacular record last season, scoring 32 goals for the Dutch side and will want any chance he can get to find such form in a Spurs’ shirt.

The former Swansea man deputised for Spurs’ No.1 shot-stopper, Hugo Lloris when he was injured earlier in the season, and will be desperate to get in between the sticks once again.

The Dutch ‘keeper will want to see Pochettino follow in the footsteps of London rival Arsene Wenger, who often elects to rotate his ‘keepers for European competitions.

The youngster gave a good account of himself when he played 90 minutes against Gillingham and could well be in for a chance in Moscow come Tuesday.

It would be a bold move from the former Southampton manager, however, he has a proved track record of giving young players a chance.
