Pochettino should give these 3 Tottenham stars a chance against Leicester City

Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add to his squad in January after failing to sign any players in the summer.

Premier League runners-up Tottenham Hotspur visit Leicester City in the top-flight on Thursday night (19:45) with fond memories of White Hart Lane still in the back of their minds.

The Foxes, who lost 2-1 to Manchester City at the weekend, are struggling down in 11th place following their 2015-16 fairytale title triumph.

Meanwhile Spurs, who bounced back to winning ways on Sunday with a narrow 2-1 win over Manchester United, have already secured second spot in the Premier League standings this term.

Following on from the weekend’s White Hart Lane finale, visiting manager Mauricio Pochettino has a few fresh injury concerns ahead of his trip to Leicester.

Left-back Danny Rose has undergone knee surgery, which could see the England international miss the start of the 2017-18 campaign, meanwhile Kyle Walker is struggling with a minor ankle problem, and fellow full-back Kieran Trippier is a major doubt after sustaining concussion against United on Sunday.

So, ahead of Thursday’s clash, here is THREE Tottenham stars Shoot! think Pochettino should give a start at the King Power Stadium…

Mousa Dembele

The 29-year-old only featured for the final 18 minutes against Manchester United, replacing Son Heung-Min, after struggling with foot pain.

But should the Belgian recover fully in time for Thursday evening, Pochettino is likely to hand the central midfielder a start against The Foxes, with Eric Dier expected to fill in at right-back.

Dembele has scored one goal in 37 appearances in all competitions for Spurs so far this season.

Moussa Sissoko

The France international has undoubtedly been underwhelming following his joint-record £30m switch from Newcastle United last summer, failing to find the back of the net in 32 appearances in all competitions this campaign.

But, with second spot already secured and only two Premier League fixtures remaining, why not hand the 27-year-old an opportunity to finally break his goalscoring duck?

Sissoko was an unused substitute against The Red Devils at the weekend, but should be involved against Leicester, if not from the start, given Pochettino’s forced defensive reshuffle.

Vincent Janssen

And finally, another man who has been unimpressive since his arrival in North London, Vincent Janssen.

The 22-year-old, who setback Spurs around £17m last summer from AZ Alkmaar, has only managed two goals in 25 Premier League outings this season.

Janssen, who has six goals in all competitions this term, has started just seven top-flight games under Pochettino this campaign, but with nothing else to play for, could be given more playing time against Leicester and already relegated Hull City (Sunday).

However, he is unlikely to replace star striker Harry Kane, who is still chasing down Everton’s Romelu Lukaku for the Golden Boot award. Two upfront?
