Potential all British XI Manchester United could select next season following summer transfers, according to Manchester Evening News

It’s very rare that an all British XI is seen in the Premier League these days, and certainly amongst the top teams in the division.

Remarkably, it’s 20 years since Aston Villa fielded an all English XI in the Premier League.

However, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already signed British players and is clearly intent on having a homegrown feel to his United squad.

The Manchester Evening News has suggested that the famous side could start an exciting British XI next season…

Goalkeeper – Henderson

Having been on loan at Sheffield United for the last two seasons, the United loanee has made a real name for himself and was widely tipped to make the England squad for the now cancelled Euro 2020 tournament this summer. Solskjaer could make the decision to bring him back to challenge De Gea.

Defenders – Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Tuanzebe, Shaw

Three of these players have been regulars for United all season, and with Lindelof and Bailly not the most consistent of players, there’s no reason why these four players wouldn’t line up together next term. The only thing that could throw a spanner in the works is Solskajer signing a world-class centre back to partner Maguire.

Midfielders – McTominay, Bellingham, Grealish

This midfield would excite any United fan. Jude Bellingham at just 16-years-old has been an absolute revelation for Birmingham City this season, and across the way Jack Grealish has been lighting up the Premier League. Add the athleticism of Scott McTominay and United would have a strong midfield.

Strikers – Sancho, Rashford, James

Jadon Sancho is looking more and more likely to join Old Trafford this summer, so this front three could be a real possibility. One thing is for sure, if it does happen it will have to go down as the quickest front three in the Premier League. The pace in this front line would frighten any team in the top division.
