1. Will Vardy match Ruud’s record?
Having surpassed Daniel Sturridge by scoring in nine consecutive Premier League games, Jamie Vardy has the chance this weekend to equal Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring for the tenth match in a row. The 29-year-old beat Sturridge last time out, converting from the penalty spot after Riyad Mahrez let him drive home in Leicester’s 2-1 victory over Watford. He sat out both of England’s friendlies, and so he may only play a bit part at the weekend against Newcastle, which could harm his chances of equalling the record. But with the Magpies putting in some nervous defensive displays this season, don’t be surprised if the Englishman’s name is on the score sheet once again.
