Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing Iceland international star Gylfi Sigurdsson this summer, according to The Sun on Sunday.

The Premier League champions, who face former winners Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the final day of the 2015/16 season on Sunday afternoon, want the Swansea City midfielder to help boost the Foxes ahead of their UEFA Champions League campaign next term.

The 26-year-old, who has 36 international caps for his country and is set to star in Iceland’s first-ever participation in a European Championship at EURO 2016 later this year in France, has scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 37 appearances in all competitions for the Swans this season.

Sigurdsson, who has found the back of the net an impressive nine times since the turn of the New Year, is wanted by Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri in a reported £15m deal.

The Icelandic star has been at the Liberty Stadium since July 2014 after sealing a £8.8m switch from Tottenham.
