Premier League Crocked XI: Four England internationals hit hard

Danny Welbeck (Arsenal)

After moving to the Emirates in search for first-team football, Welbeck started in fine goalscoring form. But the Arsenal injury curse has hit him hard, with the England forward missing the start of this season after requiring surgery on his knee. The Three Lions will be hoping to have him back for Euro 2016, with the 24-year-old having scored six goals in five qualifying games before his injury.

Expected return date: January 2016

Callum Wilson (Bournemouth)

Another anterior cruciate ligament victim, Wilson had a fine start to the season, scoring five goals in seven games. But this injury set-back will be both costly for his progression, and maybe for Bournemouth’s Premier League status. Expected to be out for six months, he may feature towards the end of the season, but it may be too late for a major impact should the Cherries be in a relegation fight.

Danny Ings (Liverpool)

In Jurgen Klopp’s first training session, in-form striker Danny Ings twisted his knee, causing him to rupture his cruciate ligaments. The injury has ruled him out for the rest of the season, which is more than likely going to end his dream of playing at the Euros. A bitter slice of bad luck for Ings, who had worked his way up the pecking order for Liverpool. The Reds are now without the Englishman and £32m Belgian forward Christian Benteke.
