David Moyes’ Sunderland side have enjoyed somewhat of a resurgence in recent weeks, recording back to back wins in the Premier League over rivals Bournemouth and Hull City.

However, this weekend they come up against a very different monster in Jurgen Klopp’s free-scoring Liverpool side, who will be keen to bounce back after being held to a rare goalless draw at Southampton last time out.

The Merseysiders have been firing on all cylinders this season and are well in the mix for the title race. Sunderland on the other hand have, aside from the last two weeks, had a torrid time of things so far this season.

One light in an otherwise troubling season has been striker Jermain Defoe, who scored his 150th Premier League goal in the 3-0 win over Hull last weekend.

If the Black Cats are going to come away from the clash with anything to show for their efforts, Moyes will need the former Tottenham striker to step up to the plate.

Attempting to put an end to the visitors’ purple patch will be star Reds forward Roberto Firmino, but how do the two leading men line up against each other? Take a look…
