Last season’s Championship play-off winners Norwich are back in the big time after just one season away, largely thanks to the impressive work of Scotsman Alex Neil since he took charge earlier this year.
The youngest manager in the Premier League could hand debuts to summer signings Graham Dorrans and Robbie Brady, as well as Liverpool loanee Andre Wisdom, but Youssouf Mulumbu will have to wait for his Canaries bow after he suffered a fractured foot.
Martin Olsson (shoulder) and Kyle Lafferty (knee) are also likely to miss the season opener at Carrow Road.
It’s been an exciting summer for Palace fans, who could be set to witness the debuts of attacking trio Connor Wickham, Patrick Bamford and Bakary Sako. Their most eye-catching signing – France international midfielder Yohan Cabaye – is suffering from a dead leg and may miss the trip to East Anglia.
Strikers Fraizer Campbell and Marouane Chamakh are out with hamstring injuries, whilst goalkeeper Julian Speroni will miss the match with a hand problem. Palace are optimistic that exciting winger Yannick Bolasie will overcome a knock and be fit to feature though.
Alan Pardew will be targeting the top half with Palace this season after a promising end to the last campaign, and having added firepower to complement an already solid defence, it could be a prosperous year at Selhurst Park.
