Arsenal Ladies striker Danielle Carter got her England career off to the best possible start after scoring a hat-trick on her debut in an 8-0 win over Estonia.

Shoot takes a look at the forward who’s been tipped for big things, both at club and international level

Where did she start her career?

The 22-year-old started at fellow London club Leyton Orient. She then made the move to Arsenal Ladies in 2009 at the age of 16.

So what happened after that?

Carter earned her respect at Arsenal and in 2010 was featured as a substitute in the FA Women’s Cup final, replacing Julie Fleeting in the 70th minute. Arsenal would ultimately lose in extra time to Everton, but it was a valuable experience for the youngster.

Has she been on the England scene for a while?

Yes. Carter has moved her way through the England youth teams, previously featuring at Under-17, U-19, U-20 and U-23 level before Mark Sampson gave her the call-up to the senior side this September.

She has an eye for goal then?

Without a doubt. Carter has been impressive throughout her career so far and currently has 19 goals in all competitions to her name in an Arsenal shirt.

Super Stat: Carter took less than 90 seconds to score on her England debut.
