Rangers close in on short-term deal for midfielder

Rangers are close to signing ex-Doncaster Rovers midfielder Harry Forrester.

The 24-year-old is having a medical at Ibrox ahead of signing a short-term deal with the Scottish Championship leaders after negotiating his own release from Donny.

Gers boss Mark Warburton, who worked with the player at Watford and Brentford, is a big fan of the playmaker and is keen to help him reignite his career.

Forrester, who was a big prospect when Aston Villa signed him at the age of 16 in 2007, has only managed nine appearances for League One Doncaster this term.
