Aberdeen midfielder Kenny McLean could be heading to Ibrox this summer as new Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha looks to start next season with a squad capable of challenging Celtic.
McLean is one of a number of players who’ve been linked with Rangers with his team mate Ryan Jack also reportedly on Caixinha’s wish list.
The 25 year-old has been in impressive form for Aberdeen this season and has 12 months left on his contract so Rangers can expect to have to pay a large fee to secure his services.
Last weekend’s Scottish Cup semi final loss to Celtic, where Rangers never really looked like beating their rivals has simply highlighted the gulf in class between the two Glasgow sides.
The Gers actually had McLean on their books as a youngster but he was released before moving to St Mirren where he played over 150 games before making the move to Pittodrie.
Fans took to social media to give their reaction to suggestions of McLean joining their club:
Kenny McLean is a massive bear and would love to play for Rangers. That’s about as much as I know about him.

Kenny McLean won’t be everyone’s type of signing but he would be a very good addition to our team. Ex Rangers youth player as well.
