Manchester United have been handed a huge boost in their reported pursuit of Wales international superstar Gareth Bale, according to Don Balon.
The Premier League side, who lifted the UEFA Europa League and the EFL Cup last term, have been strongly linked with a mega money swoop for the Real Madrid winger before the close of the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old, who has 66 international caps for The Dragons, scored nine goals and provided five assists in 27 appearances in all competitions for the UEFA Champions League and La Liga champions.
Bale, who moved to the Bernabeu from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur back in September 2013 for a world-record £85m fee, has netted 67 times in 150 games overall for the Spanish giants.
However, the report suggests the Welsh forward can leave Madrid ahead of the forthcoming 2017-18 campaign, with Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils ready to capitalise.
With AS Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe said to be nearing a move to the 2016-17 La Liga winners, Bale is set to be sold to make way for the France international striker, with Madrid wanting £90m for his services.
