Saints join the chase for Manchester United forward

Southampton have reportedly joined the race to sign Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj on loan.
The 20-year-old forward looked destined to join fellow Premier League outfit Sunderland earlier this summer, however his winner against Aston Villa on Friday night has seemingly drawn the Belgium international back into manager Louis van Gaal’s first-team plans.
Januzaj, who has six international caps, scored five goals in 29 appearances for the Red Devils last season in all competitions.
The Saints are on the lookout for another forward before the transfer window closes on September 1 following their sluggish start to the new campaign, where they drew 2-2 at Newcastle United before falling comprehensively to a 3-0 home defeat to Everton on Saturday.
However Ronald Koeman’s side face stiff competition from Bundesliga giants and UEFA Champions League 2013 finalists Borussia Dortmund who are also thought to be interested in signing Januzaj on a season-long loan.
With United still tying up a deal for Barcelona forward Pedro, whilst also been linked with a sensational move for Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller, it is thought that the Old Trafford outfit would be willing to allow the Belgian to leave the club on loan if either of the previous deals materialise.
