Manchester United face Championship side Wrexham on Saturday in their first friendly of the summer.
Michael Carrick’s side will face their Welsh opponents at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium in Finland, before other friendlies against Rosenborg, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Leeds United and AC Milan.
The Red Devils’ final friendly of the summer – against Milan on August 15 – will take place just a week before their Premier League opener against newly-promoted Hull City.
In the meantime, though, it has emerged that the Italian side are eyeing a move to sign one of United’s current players.
According to CaughtOffside, Serie A giants AC Milan have identified United winger Amad Diallo as a prime candidate to bolster their ranks this summer.
Diallo, 24, joined the Red Devils from Italian outfit Atalanta back in 2021 and has since had loan spells with Sunderland and Scottish side Rangers.
The Ivory Coast international – who scored twice for his country at the World Cup this summer – has played a total of 97 games for Man United across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing the same number of assists.
The report claims that former United boss Ruben Amorim – who is now in charge at Milan – is keen to add Diallo to his squad as he looks to finetune his attack in Italy.
Diallo was one of few United players who thrived during Amorim’s dismal spell in charge at Old Trafford, and it appears that the Portuguese is keen for a reunion in Milan.
Despite their interest, the report suggests that Milan are likely to submit a relatively modest and ‘financially-controlled’ offer for Diallo, which may fail to persuade United to part ways with the winger.
Last term, the Ivorian started 27 of Manchester United’s 38 Premier League games.
