Sheffield Wednesday, Newcastle United and Aston Villa chasing Fulham’s £12m-rated star striker

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly lining up a summer swoop for Fulham striker Ross McCormack, according to the Daily Mail.
A fee in the region of £12m may be sufficient enough to see McCormack move away from Craven Cottage after being heavily linked with Wednesday, Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
In his prime of 29 years of age, McCormack would not be hesitant in a move away from Fulham, who finished 20th in the Championship last season.
The former Leeds United striker signed for Fulham for a fee in the region of £11m and has two years remaining on his contract.
Fulham are reluctant to sell their star striker and would only expect to recoup their financial losses, should he leave the club.

Scotland international McCormack was left disappointed back in January after being denied a move to Middlesbrough, who were subsequently promoted to the Premier League last month.
The 5ft 9in striker scored 21 league goals in 45 appearances for Fulham last term, including nine assists and has become one of the Championship’s most feared forward.
The Cottagers’ number 44 would have to fend off the likes of Gary Hooper and Fernando Forestieri for a starting place, should he seal a summer switch to Hillsborough.
Owls fans have mixed reviews over the McCormack link due to the heavy price tag. Although McCormack doesn’t guarantee promotion, his career statistics provide evidence that he will score goals. Wednesdayites would happily see Glaswegian-born McCormack arrive at Hillsborough, but for half the asking price.
Further uncertainty amongst fans includes the fact that Wednesday ideally need an experienced target man who can play alongside Hooper and McCormack doesn’t fit this mould.
With many free agents now available, Wednesday may turn their attentions elsewhere. Ultimately, the fans would like to see the arrival of a target man up front, a powerhouse in midfield, a left-back and possible a winger.
Twelve million pounds should be adequate enough to see all four positions strengthened with this money, who knows?
