Sheffield Wednesday poised to sign Premier League forward

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly closing in on the signing of Norwich City striker Gary Hooper.

It is believed that the Championship have struck a deal to take the former Celtic forward on a season-long loan having played just 11 minutes of Premier League football so far this season.The 27-year-old, who arrived at Carrow Road from the Scottish Premiership champions over two years ago, scored 13 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions for Alex Neil’s men last season as they won promotion to the top-flight.

With fellow forward Stevie May’s future in doubt at Hillsborough upon the close of the transfer window, Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal is eager to bolster his attacking options to build upon the club’s mixed bag of results they have endured at the start of this season.
