Here at Shoot! we’ve always got one eye on the up-and-comers from across the youth leagues in world football in order to keep you informed when it comes to who is going to break into the top teams over the next few years.

One player who has been catapulted into the foreground in recent weeks is Celtic’s 13-year-old Karamoko Dembele, who made his debut for the Bhoys U20 side last week, meaning he was playing for the age group seven years above his own.

The youngster has been garnering attention across the country since making his bow for the U20s, but has now reportedly turned the heads of scouts at Man City, according to The Sun.

The explosive midfielder has a real eye for goal and a fair few tricks up his sleeve, shown in his spectacular display against West Brom…

The schoolboy has also impressed against continental opponents, winning player of the tournament awards at both the St Kevin’s Boys Academy Cup with the U15s and the Bassevelde International Cup as part of the U13s squad, giving defenders from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund the run-around across both tournaments.

As per the report, Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic hierarchy are desperate to keep hold of their prised prodigy, which is why they gave him the outing with the U20s, so that they would have a more credible claim for compensation should he be tempted away.
