The 2017-18 domestic season concludes with the magic of the FA Cup, as Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United go head-to-head in the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening (17:15).

The Blues, who finished outside the top-flight’s top four in fifth spot, are looking to lift the trophy for the first time since 2012.

Meanwhile The Red Devils, who finished second in the Premier League this campaign, but still a mighty 19 points behind record-breaking champions Manchester City, are looking to seal their second FA Cup triumph in three years after defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 back in 2016.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

Both sides won their respected home Premier League fixtures this season, with United most recently defeating Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford back in February, thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard.

Ahead of this crucial clash tomorrow, Shoot! has put together our very own FA Cup final Chelsea-Manchester United combined XI…

Do you agree with our selection? Or, which player(s) do you think we have missed out?

Comment below with your tactical suggestions!

*The combined XI follows a traditional 4-3-3 formation and includes ALL players from either squad, regardless of whether they are injured or suspended in reality*

Goalkeeper: David De Gea (Manchester United)

Perhaps the best goalkeeper in the world, right now, Manchester United’s David De Gea gets the nod ahead of Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.

The 27-year-old recorded 18 clean sheets in 37 league games this season to take home the Premier League Golden Glove award, and kept 22 shut outs in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side this term.

Right-back: César Azpilicueta (Chelsea)

Ahead of Antonio Valencia is Chelsea’s César Azpilicueta, who is arguably one of the Premier League’s most consistent and solid defenders.

The 28-year-old has scored three goals and provided seven assists in 51 games in all competitions this campaign for The Blues.

Centre-back: Eric Bailly (Manchester United)

Despite an injury-stricken season at Old Trafford, our first centre-half is United’s Eric Bailly.

The Ivory Coast international, 24, is regarded as The Red Devils’ best defender, though an ankle injury has restricted him to just 18 appearances in all competitions this campaign.

Centre-back: Antonio Rüdiger (Chelsea)

Partnering Bailly is Chelsea’s summer signing Antonio Rüdiger, ahead of colleagues Gary Cahill and David Luiz.

The 25-year-old Germany international has chipped in with three goals in 44 games overall for Antonio Conte’s men this season, but was left on the bench for The Blues’ final Premier League outing at Newcastle United last Sunday.

Left-back: Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)

With United’s left-back problems, selecting Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso was a no-brainer for our final full-back position.

The 27-year-old has scored eight goals and provided four assists in all competitions for The Blues this term, earning himself a deserved place in the PFA 2017-18 Team of the Year.

Midfielder: N’Golo Kante (Chelsea)

The defensive midfield machine, N’Golo Kante.

The tireless Frenchman, 27, tries his utmost to snuff out every attack from the opposition, has made 47 appearances in all competitions this season, and is one of the best defensive midfielders in the game.

Midfielder: Nemanja Matic (Manchester United)

A former Blue, United’s summer signing Nemanja Matic is likely to face his former Chelsea team mates at Wembley on Saturday.

The 29-year-old Serbian has scored two goals in 48 games for Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils during his debut year at Old Trafford, following his reported £40m from Stamford Bridge last July.

Midfielder: Paul Pogba (Manchester United)

Our majestic midfield line-up is completed by United’s club-record signing, Paul Pogba.

The 25-year-old has netted six goals and assisted 12 further strikes in 36 games overall for Jose Mourinho’s men this campaign, but only featured as a late substitute against Watford on the final day of the Premier League season last Sunday.

Right forward: Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

On the right flank of our prolific front three, we start with United’s Marcus Rashford.

Selected in England’s 2018 World Cup squad, the 20-year-old found the back of the net 13 times in all competitions for The Red Devils this campaign, and he will be looking to get his hands on the FA Cup before flying off to Russia this summer.

Centre forward: Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United)

Spearheading our attack is Romelu Lukaku, another ex-Chelsea man starring at The Theatre of Dreams.

The 25-year-old is our preferred centre forward, ahead of the likes of The Blues’ Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata, having scored 27 goals in 50 games this campaign.

Left forward: Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

And finally, Chelsea winger Eden Hazard completes Shoot!‘s FA Cup final combined XI.

The 27-year-old has scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists for Antonio Conte’s side this term, but doubts remain over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge, having yet put pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
