With Sutton United out, it was down to Lincoln City to keep the non-league flag flying in this year’s FA Cup as we entered the quarter-finals.

Eight teams battled it out for a place in the semi-finals and a trip to Wembley Stadium.

Joining Danny Cowley’s heroic Imps were serial giant killers Millwall, who faced their toughest challenge yet after triumphing over three top-flight teams on their route to the quarter-finals, a trip to Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham.

Arsenal desperately needed to recover from a second consecutive demoralising hammering at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and they had the honour of welcoming Lincoln to the Emirates Stadium.

The first game of the weekend was at the Riverside where Middlesbrough hosted Manchester City, and Monday night saw the headline tie, Chelsea v Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho returning to Stamford Bridge, but this time in the red corner!

So, following the quarter-final results of the FA Cup, here are Shoot!‘s Player, Team and Goal of the Round…

Player of the Round: Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)

When Harry Kane was forced off early on, Millwall might have thought they were in with a chance.

But how wrong they would be. Spurs needed someone to lead the way and up stepped their Korean Dynamite. After Christian Eriksen sent the hosts on their way, Son took the reins and killed the game with a fabulous brace and then sealed his hat-trick late on as Tottenham helped themselves to a place in the semi-finals with a thumping 6-0 win.

His first came on 41 minutes when he received the ball out wide, cut inside onto his weaker left foot, and curled in a peach of an effort from just outside the box to make it two-nil on the stroke of half-time.

The forward went on to net his second with a terrifically executed volley nine minutes into the second-half, and completed his hat-trick after 92 minutes when his left-footed strike squirmed through the legs of Tom King in the Lions’ goal.

Not the most glamorous end to an otherwise stunning hat-trick.

Team of the Round: Tottenham Hotspur

Despite losing their main man Harry Kane early on, Spurs ended up cruising to victory against their London rivals Millwall.

Thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Vincent Jansson, on top of a Son Heung-min hat-trick, Tottenham advanced into the last-four with the performance of the round and the joint-second biggest win of the competition.

Eriksen opened the scoring on the half-hour mark with a terrific half-volley, before Son extended the lead before half-time with the pick of the goals, and then the Korean got his second early in the second-half to kill the game off.

Alli completed another flowing Tottenham move to make it four, and Jansson scored his first Tottenham goal from open play (a big weight off his shoulders).

This all before Son completed a wonderful treble in stoppage time, the third largely helped by an unfortunate howler from goalkeeper Tom King.

Goal of the Round: Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)

Yep, a Spurs clean sweep… It just had to be!

To be honest, it could’ve been either Eriksen’s or Son’s second strike. But, acknowledging the fact Son’s first goal on Saturday was with his weaker left foot makes it the winner.

Only N’Golo Kante’s winner against Manchester United came anywhere close.

Alli played the ball wide to the Spurs No.7, who initially applied a poor first touch to seemingly slow the attack down. But, when he regained control, the end product more than made amends.

Cutting inside the full-back with an electric turn of pace, he then wrapped his left foot around the ball to produce a rasping finish into the top corner.

Man of the Match, Goal of the Round and Player of the Round. Saturday at White Hart Lane wasn’t a bad day out for Son was it?
