Player of the Month: Ian Henderson (Rochdale)

Rochdale’s form throughout December saw them win four out of four, scoring eleven times.

They ended the year in the play-offs and comfortably clear of seventh place.

Versatile forward Henderson (Pictured) played a key role in that with performances in impressive wins over Scunthorpe United and Northampton Town.

He also crucially found the net twice in a 3-2 win over struggling Chesterfield, before grabbing the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town.

Manager of the Month: Chris Wilder (Sheffield United)

It’s been a perfect month for Wilder’s Blades as the former Northampton Town boss (Pictured) guided United to the top of the table.

With just one goal conceded in four matches, their defence has tightened up and they found the net nine times in December.

It could be argued that their run has been against sides struggling near the bottom of the table, but you can only beat what is in front of you and Sheffield United have done that – and comfortably, ensuring they entered 2017 in the box seat for promotion.

Goal of the Month: Simon Cox (SOUTHEND UNITED v AFC Wimbledon)

The former Republic of Ireland international is in a rich vein of form for Southend United at the moment, having scored five goals in his last four League One outings, including this spectacular third and final strike against AFC Wimbledon on Boxing Day…
