The FA Cup limited Premier League action during March, meaning not much has changed in the league table.

Manchester United finally climbed out of sixth spot, while Arsenal’s dreadful form has added pressure to under fire boss Arsene Wenger.

No such stress at Stamford Bridge or White Hart Lane though, as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur continue to look strong.

At the other end of the standings, the writing appears to be on the wall for rock-bottom Sunderland, while Middlesbrough will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Swansea City, who have all managed to strengthen their survival prospects after parting ways with their respective managers.

So, as we move into a new month, here is Shoot!’s Premier League Player, Manager and Goal of the Month for March…

Player of the Month: Romelu Lukaku (Everton)

The big centre forward scored in each of Everton’s matches in March as they picked up six points from a possible nine.

In spite of his falling out with manager Ronald Koeman and turning down a five-year contract, the 23-year-old has nonetheless remained impressive on the pitch, with goals against Spurs, West Brom and a brace against Hull City.

Whether he leaves Goodison Park remains to be seen, but there is little doubt that Everton would be better off with him, than without.

Manager of the Month: Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool)

Has Klopp brought the success to Anfield that the faithful were hoping for?

Not yet one might argue, but victories over Arsenal and Burnley, plus a thrilling draw with Manchester City have seen the Merseyside club end March in a much coveted Champions League spot.

The likeable German won’t win the league this year, but taking The Reds back into Europe will be a big step in the right direction.

Goal of the Month: Jesse Lingard (Middlesbrough v MANCHESTER UNITED)

The England international finally broke his Premier League duck for the season on March 19 by doubling Manchester United’s lead at Middlesbrough with a spectacular strike.

The 24-year-old left former Red Devils goalkeeper Victor Valdes helpless as the winger unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top right-hand corner shortly after the hour-mark at The Riverside.

Despite it being Lingard’s only top-flight goal of the campaign, so far, it was certainly worth the wait!
