Should Gareth Southgate consider these two West Ham men for England?

England manager Gareth Southgate is set to name his England squad next Thursday, for clashes with both Germany and Lithuania at the end of March, and will have been scouring the Premier League for the top English talent over the past few weeks.

One club almost synonymous with the success of the national is West Ham. The Hammers have long been providers of top English talent, with many fans claiming the 1966 World Cup win as a club honour.

Southgate was in attendance at the London Stadium last month when Slaven Bilic’s side were on the wrong end of a late equaliser against Tony Pulis’ West Brom side and will have kept a keen eye on a number of talents.

The Hammers got off to an awful start to the Premier League season, having moved to their new Stratford home. However, a recent turn around in form has led to a number of players being suggested for potential call ups to their respective national sides.

With that in mind, could this claret and blue duo be in line for a Three Lions call up?

Andy Carroll

The Hammers talisman has just recovered from his latest knock, having missed Premier League games against both West Brom and Watford. However, in the weeks leading up to his groin problem, the former Liverpool and Newcastle man was in fine form.

The 28-year-old was back to his best, bagging four goals in as many games after New Year, including a crucial equaliser at Southampton to kickstart a come back on the way to a 3-1 win.

Michail Antonio

The former Nottingham Forest man was handed his first ever call up to the Three Lions squad by former Hammers boss Sam Allardyce in his one and only squad announcement, however is yet to earn a cap.

Antonio has been Slaven Bilic’s standout performer this season and, albeit in a poor campaign for the club, is leading their scoring charts with eleven games left to go in the Premier League, certainly worth a go.
